Blog # 8

The Graveyard book has some critical perspectives that made us understand the meaning through the situations that appears in the novel. To understand literature we might have to do a little more extra searching on the novel to find hidden meanings. Like for instance, the main motifs or symbolism is the knife. Some people might not know what a knife symbolizes. They might only know that a knife is very dangerous but it also has alot of more to it. The one of the main approaches I would chose is Marxism/Social Criticism. This novel first applies the social class of each character. The parents who were killed were describe as rich people. We can tell by all the evidence and objects that were described. I also think that the killer who is The Man Jack who can be described as from a lower class family with no standards. I am saying because the Man Jack was not described as how the parents were.
